Prebaked Carbon Anode
Prebaked carbon anodes are essential consumables used in the electrolytic production of primary aluminium. They are produced by blending calcined petroleum coke and coal tar pitch, then moulded, baked, and graphitised under controlled conditions to achieve high mechanical strength, electrical conductivity, and chemical stability.
During electrolysis, the prebaked anode conducts electrical current into the electrolytic bath, enabling the reduction of alumina to aluminium. The quality of the anode directly affects energy consumption, metal purity, and operational efficiency of the smelter.
Applications include:
Aluminium smelting cells (Hall–Héroult process)
Electrolytic refining and foundry applications
Carbon blocks and cathode manufacturing
We supply prebaked carbon anodes in a variety of dimensions and specifications, sourced from reliable global producers to ensure consistent performance and extended service life.
